Healing the Wounded

Posted on Posted in Healing

I believe that the greatest cry of God today is that He wants to heal our wounds, our addictions and all of our behavior that is not focused on Him. The burden on my heart is to get the message out that God wants us to be healed.

Ministry to the inner man is not just for a few troubled souls, but it is a vital key to the transformation of every heart of every normal Christian. Yes, maybe we have been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, but there are parts of our inner being that has not died to Jesus Christ yet. For us to live the abundant life that God has for us we must allow the Holy Spirit to heal these past hurts and wounds. God is not just trying to change your outward behavior.  He wants to change you from the inside out. If we can heal our hurts, our behavior will change.

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!”  Ephesians 5:8

Are you truly living as people of light?

“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” Philippians 3:12

Are you pressing on trying to change your behavior, or do you want to heal your wounded spirit?

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Are you still trying to copy the ways of the world and think that you can handle everything? Are you doing a good job of handling your life?

“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11

Are you still acting as a child? Are you still trying to get your way, no matter what? Are you willing to accept your responsibility for your life and allow God to heal you?

“A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.  A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thorn bushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes.  A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” Luke 6:43-45

What is the treasury of your heart? What is the most important thing in your life?

“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?  I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it.  It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.  But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” Luke 6:46-49

Allowing God’s healing in your life will help you build that foundation.
